San Diego is one of the famous cities in California. San Diego is known for it beaches and its large zoo. This city is the second largest in California. The economy in San Diego consists mainly of computer technology, manufacturing, military, and tourism. San Diego is known to have warm dry summers and mild winters with some rain. The city is comprised of beaches, canyons and hills, and natural parkland. This city also has some of the largest animal species that are on the endangered species list.

San Diego is home of some of the nicest beaches. Ocean Beach is a small beach that has mostly independent businesses on site. Mission Beach and Pacific Beach sit between Sea World. Sea World is where tourists can ride rollercoaster’s, see dolphin shows, sea turtles, sea lions and other marine animals. Mission Beach Plunge is located in Belmont Park on Mission beach and is one of the oldest structures still remaining. This building was featured in the movie Top Gun.

Downtown San Diego was revived in 2004. One main attraction in the downtown area is PETCO Park. PETCO Park is the home of the San Diego Padres. This stadium is named after the pet supply store. During the construction of this park animal rights group PETA protested the construction of the park and purchased bricks and one brick was placed in the stadium that had a scrambled phrase that ultimately read Boycott Petco.

San Diego is rich in culture with its many museums and opera houses. This city also has many public libraries and cultural activities that are placed around the city. Some works of art can be seen at the harbor and are in the form of the magnifying scopes. San Diego is also rich in the surfing and skateboard culture that can be found in different areas of the state. There is also a rich sports culture in this city as well.

The San Diego zoo is located in Balboa Park. This zoo is one of the largest in the world and houses over 4,000 animals of over 800 species. This zoo is privately owned and sits on parkland that is leased from the city. The zoo has a guided bus tour as well as a sky lift to see all the animals and vegetation from above. All of the exhibits are designed around a habitat. The polar bear is one of the most popular exhibits at the zoo.

This city shows that it is very rich in culture, sports, and nature and has many things to offer for tourists.
